Hello
My name is Gage McCall and I was born to create. I am a passionate, driven, energetic, and creative artist based in Pittsburgh, PA.
Within the space of a square frame or single sheet of paper, I work to transport the viewer into a world that is unlike the one we live in. I strive to pull viewers out of the real world, and place them within a space that is seemingly more alive. When I frame an image or put ink on a sheet of paper, I hope viewers forget that they are looking at a photograph or drawing but instead see an alternate reality, a fantasy, brought to life through painterly qualities and a surrealistic aesthetic.
My goal as an artist is to evoke feelings from the viewer. I want my work to elicit a rush of joy, or even send a shiver down somebody’s spine. With each creation I juxtapoz the real and surreal, I blend fantasy and reality riddled dreams. As I continue to create new work I strive to move closer to actualizing my true artistic self and work tirelessly to quench my thirst for further knowledge in the craft of storytelling.
I'm currently looking for an exciting new adventure and interested in new creative opportunities. I am available to relocate if needed.
