The Ruby Slippers
I’ve been a fan of “The Wizard of Oz” since I was three years old and I have became obsessed with the shoes from the movie very early on. I decided to replicate the iconic shoes from the film to pay tribute to my childhood but also remind myself to follow my dreams. I acquired a pair of black vintage high heels and transformed them into the most famous pair of shoes in the world. My goal was to make these as similar as the original ruby slippers worn by Judy Garland. It took me 6 months to hand craft these shoes.

Photo Constructed
Brief: To form by assembling or combining parts, to build. Or create (an argument or a sentence) by systematically arranging ideas or terms through your photographs.
My process behind this project was to represent a brain quite literally being washed under water. I put some hamburger meat into a plastic bag and molded it into the shape of a brain. Using my bathtub as a studio I ran water over the bag of meat while I photographed it. While editing in post production I was able to photoshop brain texture onto the object to bring my vision to life.
